Bridget Hough
Bridget Hough, DMA
President

Currently the Director of Academic and Executive Search for UCLA Health, Bridget joined UCLA in 2016 as its first executive recruiter. Charged with establishing an in-house executive recruitment function for the medical enterprise, she oversees senior-level recruits for the David Geffen School of Medicine and the UCLA Health System.

Previously, Bridget spent seven years with Russell Reynolds Associates, an international recruiting and consulting firm, where her executive search and assessment work focused on higher education and healthcare. She had the privilege of serving as a key member of the search consultant team for university presidential searches, for provost searches, and for a variety of academic dean and department chair searches.

James Kao
Vice President

James Kao is a higher education and nonprofit leader with a background in the arts.  As the founding manager of Berkeley Executive Search at UC Berkeley, James built and leads an internal executive recruitment team that partners with and advises University of California executives to identify and recruit senior-level talent for complex and unique roles.  Prior to coming (back) to Berkeley, James led Visitor Services special projects, operations, and administration at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, where he planned, collaborated on, and implemented various staffing plans for special art exhibitions.  James possesses a BA from UC Berkeley and an MA from Central Saint Martins in London.

Adam Seid
Treasurer

Adam Seid serves as a Senior Search Consultant with the University of Virginia’s Executive Search Group (ESG). Recent placements include University Registrar, Associate Vice President for Career & Professional Development, Senior Associate Vice President for Student Affairs & Dean of Students, and UVA Health’s Chief of Financial Operations, Planning, and Analysis. Adam is focused on building and maintaining positive organizational culture through leadership, organizational effectiveness, and facilitation. He develops and maintains relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across organizations and brings teams together with diverse perspectives to achieve desired results.

Adam holds a master's degree and an Ed.D. in higher education administration from UVA’s School of Education and Human Development, where he occasionally teaches graduate courses. Adam’s research interests are situated in educational policy, access, and equity, with a specific focus on international education and study abroad. Having spent 10 years working for the Institute for Shipboard Education’s Semester at Sea program, Adam is an avid traveler and has spent time in over 70 countries. Adam and his family reside in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Caitlin Hargadon
Secretary

An experienced Senior Executive Recruitment Consultant, Caitlin leads department chair, vice dean, associate dean, center director and senior executive searches for the David Geffen School of Medicine and UCLA Health System. Since joining UCLA Health in 2017, Caitlin has successfully supported or led more than 35 searches.

Before joining UCLA Health, Caitlin worked at Washington Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Washington, D.C., where she started as a medical assistant and ultimately advanced to the roles of office supervisor and HR administrator. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiological Sciences from the University of Maryland at College Park.

Nancy J. Donohoo

Nancy brings three decades of executive search experience, serving both as a Partner/Practice Leader at retained healthcare firms and as an in-house recruitment consultant. Today, as a Senior Consultant with WashU Executive Search, Nancy leads searches across a broad range of leadership roles, including executive directors, division chiefs, department chairs, and vice chancellors.

Before transitioning to executive search, Nancy held leadership roles at UnitedHealthcare and Coventry Health Care/Aetna and co-founded an employee wellness company serving Fortune 500 clients. She earned a BS in Organizational Communications from Missouri State University and a Master of Education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She is a Certified Professional Coach through iPEC and a Leadership Development Certified Professional (LDCP) through the Institute of Organization Development.

John Harp
Advisory Board Member

John Harp is the Executive Search & Solutions Practice Leader at MUSC Health, where he leads the organization's in-house executive search function and executive talent strategy efforts. He joined MUSC with more than 20 years of experience spanning executive recruitment, talent acquisition, human resources, and human capital consulting.

Prior to MUSC, John was part of Deloitte Consulting's HR Transformation Practice, specializing in HR operating model and talent transformation initiatives. He has also held HR and talent leadership roles with Boeing South Carolina, Volkswagen Group of America, and Pfizer Inc.

John earned a B.S. in Business Management from the University of Florida. He and his wife, Dawn, live in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, and enjoy spending time with their two young adult sons. When he’s not scouting executive talent, John can be found on the golf course, gardening in the yard or experimenting in the kitchen. John is a 7.5 USGA Index and his chicken piccata is almost as good!
